Reservations for the facilities listed below must be made and
paid in person at the Parks and Recreation Office, for all
facilities except the Senior Center or Carriage House. Call Parks
and Recreation at 248-625-8223 for fees and availability
information. For the Senior Center and the Carriage House, call
248-625-8231.
A $100 (in the form of a check) Security Deposit is required on
all rentals. Please read the facility rental refund policy below.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance can I rent?
You can rent up to one year in advance from your Event date.
Can I reserve a date over the phone?
You can get availability of the date you are inquiring about over
the phone, but you must come in to make the reservation.
Is a Security Deposit required?
Yes, a $100 Security Deposit (in the form of a check) must be left
for each facility rented.
Can I get a refund or transfer my date?
The Refund Policy for Rentals is:
- Unless the program was cancelled by the Parks and Recreation
Department, a $5 service fee will be withheld on all patron
requested refunds. For some programs, all patron requested
refunds must be requested prior to the registration deadline.
- No refunds can be issued for special events or one-day
programs. Sorry, no exceptions.
- All refunds will be refunded in the form of a Gold
Certificate (household credit), check, or your VISA or
Mastercard will be credited. No cash refunds will be given.
Check refunds will be issued according to the Township Finance
Department’s bill-paying schedule, which may take 4-6 weeks. If
the refund is less than $10, a gold certificate will be issued.
The Refund Policy for Facility Rentals is:
- If the cancellation/transfer request by the applicant occurs
more than fourteen days (14) prior to the event: All transfers
are subject to a $10 administrative fee, pending the new date is
available. All transfers must be done in person, unless payment
is made by VISA or Mastercard. Call (248) 625-8223 for more
information and to have a Transfer Form faxed to you. In the
case of a refund, the rental fee minus $10 will be refunded
along with the deposit. See above for details.
- If the cancellation/transfer request by the applicant occurs
less than fourteen days (14) prior to the event: The entire
rental fee is forfeited and the deposit will be returned in
full, regardless of the reason for the cancellation, including
inclement weather. Absolutely no transfers.
Can I do the paperwork, but use someone else’s check?
Yes, however, the person who provides payment for the rental
must be a resident in order to get the resident rate.
With a room rental, can we come early to set-up?
Your rental should include enough time for set-up and clean-up time.
If you need more time, you will need to add it to your rental.
With a Pavilion Rental, can we come early to set-up?
Pavilions, unless rented, are first come, first serve. Your
exclusive time begins at the time of your rental. Your rental
choices are: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 8:00
PM. If you choose to rent a ½ day rental, the pavilion
cleaning times are between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
With a Pavilion Rental, can we have more people that the
allotted amount in our contract?
No. Seating and parking capacities are factored in to that
number.
Are picnic tables included with my rental?
Yes, picnic table seating comes with your pavilion rental for
the number of persons indicated on your contract.
Are there electrical outlets at the Pavilions?
Yes. Sorry, no generators are allowed to be brought in.
Are there grills are all Pavilions?
Not all. Grills are located at Sashabaw Plains’s pavilion, Bay
Court Pavilions (both) and Clintonwood Park’s South pavilion.
There is not a grill a Clintonwood’s North Pavilion. There are
grills in the grassy areas of Clintonwood and Sashabaw Plains parks.
Is the Spraypark or Beach included in my rental?
No, there are separate fees to use those amenities.
Can I rent a moonwalk or inflatable?
All third party contracts for moonwalks, etc are subject to
approval at the time of your rental. If approved, a Certificate of
Insurance will need to be provided within ten days of your signed
contract.
Can I bring in my own tent?
All third party contracts for tents, etc are subject to approval
at the time of your rental. If approved, a Certificate of Insurance
will need to be provided within ten days of your signed contract.
Tents can also be rented through our Department. Pop up tents
smaller than a 10x10ft, are allowed at the Spraypark.
Clintonwood Park
6000 Clarkston Road
Clintonwood Park is 120 acres of open space. The park is open every day
with the exception of New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The park
features a fitness rail, basketball, 4 square and tennis courts, playground
and spraypark, baseball, softball and soccer fields, in-line skating rink,
volleyball and horseshoes.

Senior Center
6000 Clarkston Road
The Senior Center, located in Clintonwood Park on Clarkston Road, offers
trips, sports, crafts, music, cards, special dinners and parties, health
screenings, talks and much more. Daily services include meals for the
homebound, lunches at the center, and transportation for residents of
Clarkston, Independence and Springfield Township.

Sashabaw Plains Park
5620 Maybee Road
Sashabaw Plains park is a 15-acre ark that is open during the year from
April through October 31. The park features a community built playground,
baseball fields, horseshoes, 4 square and basketball courts, volleyball,
picnic areas, andbathroom facilities.

Sashabaw Plains Pavilion - Seating for approximately 75 people
Pavilion hours: May, September and October: 9:00 AM – Dusk, Memorial Day –
Labor Day: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Deer Lake Beach
350 White Lake Road
Deer Lake Beach is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, weather
permitting. Please call 248-625-8223 for hours. Trained Lifeguards supervise the beach. Fees are charged
for both the beach and boat launching facilities. Swimming lessons are held
throughout the summer. Park rules are posted at each entrance. Please
remember that all Township facilities are alcohol free and that all pets
must be leashed at all times when using any park facility.
Bay Court Park

Bay Court Park is a wonderful historic landmark that as been designed to
meet the growing needs of our community. The park is open every day with
the exception of New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Amenities
include: community built playscape, disc golf and bathrooms.
Bay Court Park Beach is open weather permitting, 9:00am-6:00pm, every
day. There are NO LIFEGUARDS on duty, SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Ryan Schmidt Memorial Disc Golf Course
Dedicated July 21, 1998, the Ryan Schmidt Memorial Disc Golf
Course is a 9 hole Frisbee Golf Course, easy for participants of all
ability levels to enjoy. Bay Court Park is a terrific setting for
"golfers" and the Course is free of charge. Scorecards are available

There are signs at each hole, detailing the par, distance and a
layout.
5. Is the building always open for the public to access the
restrooms and drinking fountain?
Yes, restrooms and the drinking fountain are accessible during Park
hours

Dogs are allowed, however, all dogs must be leashed and leash must
be in handlers possession at all times.
7. What is the alcohol policy for Bay Court Park?

8. Is there camping available at the Park?
No, the closest Camp Ground is Groveland Oaks Park through Oakland
County Parks
