Accountability and Transparency

Independence Township (the "Township") takes pride in providing residents and businesses with financial and economic data that helps to measure both the fiscal stability and the quality of life within the Township.  Although much of this information has always been included within the Township's audited financial statements, it is now displayed in an easy-to-read, interactive web site. The first three links below will take our guests directly to the Independence Township home page within Access My Gov, an independent BS&A-sponsored web site.  Once here, users can explore the Township's fiscal and economic data by reviewing interactive charts, graphs, and other presentations.

This data is derived from the annual financial statements of the Township.Additional links below present the current outstanding debt of the Township, the Board-approved 2016 and 2017 budgets, and the last four years of the Township's audited financial statements.By committing to a high level of accountability and transparency standards, the Township will continue to receive additional state shared revenue ("CVTRS" / "City/Village/Township Revenue Sharing") in an amount of approximately $90,000 per year.If you have any questions or comments, please email Wendy Hillman, Finance Director at
